14. Surah Ibrahim (Abraham)
سُورَةُ إبراهيمReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
الٓرalif-lām-rāAlif Lam Ra
كِتَٰبٌkitābunA Book
أَنزَلْنَٰهُanzalnāhuWe have revealed it
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
لِتُخْرِجَlitukh'rijaso that you may bring out
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsamankind
مِنَminafrom
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِl-ẓulumātithe darknesses
إِلَىilāto
ٱلنُّورِl-nūrithe light
بِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby the permission
رَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lord
إِلَىٰilāto
صِرَٰطِṣirāṭi(the) path
ٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzi(of) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَمِيدِl-ḥamīdithe Praiseworthy
Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord — to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy —
ٱللَّهِallahiAllah
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One to Whom
لَهُۥlahubelongs
مَاmāwhatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَمَاwamāand whatever
فِىfī(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth
وَوَيْلٌwawaylunAnd woe
لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnato the disbelievers
مِنْminfrom
عَذَابٍʿadhābina punishment
شَدِيدٍshadīdinsevere
Allah, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment —
هَٰذَاhādhāThis
بَلَٰغٌbalāghun(is) a clear message
لِّلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor mankind
وَلِيُنذَرُوا۟waliyundharūthat they may be warned
بِهِۦbihithereby
وَلِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟waliyaʿlamūand that they may know
أَنَّمَاannamāthat only
هُوَhuwaHe
إِلَٰهٌilāhun(is) One God
وَٰحِدٌwāḥidunSingle
وَلِيَذَّكَّرَwaliyadhakkaraand that may take heed
أُو۟لُوا۟ulūpeople
ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِl-albābi(of) understanding
This [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding may be reminded.
