21. Surah Al-Anbya (The Prophets)
سُورَةُ الأنبياءReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱقْتَرَبَiq'tarabaHas approached
لِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor mankind
حِسَابُهُمْḥisābuhumtheir account
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
فِىfī(are) in
غَفْلَةٍghaflatinheedlessness
مُّعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūnaturning away
[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.
مَاmāNot
يَأْتِيهِمyatīhimcomes to them
مِّنminany
ذِكْرٍdhik'rinreminder
مِّنminfrom
رَّبِّهِمrabbihimtheir Lord
مُّحْدَثٍmuḥ'dathinanew
إِلَّاillāexcept
ٱسْتَمَعُوهُis'tamaʿūhuthey listen to it
وَهُمْwahumwhile they
يَلْعَبُونَyalʿabūnaare at play
No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play —
وَمَآwamāAnd not
أَرْسَلْنَٰكَarsalnākaWe have sent you
إِلَّاillāexcept
رَحْمَةًraḥmatan(as) a mercy
لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnato the worlds
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
ٱحْكُمuḥ'kumjudge
بِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqqiin truth
وَرَبُّنَاwarabbunāAnd our Lord
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُl-raḥmānu(is) the Most Gracious
ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُl-mus'taʿānuthe One Whose help is sought
عَلَىٰʿalāagainst
مَاmāwhat
تَصِفُونَtaṣifūnayou attribute
[The Prophet] has said, 'My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One whose help is sought against that which you describe.'
