47. Surah Muhammad (Muhammad)
سُورَةُ محمدReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
وَصَدُّوا۟waṣaddūand turn away
عَنʿanfrom
سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
أَضَلَّaḍallaHe will render astray
أَعْمَٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deeds
Those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah — He will waste their deeds.
هَٰٓأَنتُمْhāantumHere you are
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāithose
تُدْعَوْنَtud'ʿawnacalled
لِتُنفِقُوا۟litunfiqūto spend
فِىfīin
سَبِيلِsabīli(the) way
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
فَمِنكُمfaminkumthen among you
مَّنman(are) those who
يَبْخَلُyabkhaluwithhold
وَمَنwamanAnd whoever
يَبْخَلْyabkhalwithholds
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen only
يَبْخَلُyabkhaluhe withholds
عَنʿanfrom
نَّفْسِهِۦnafsihihimself
وَٱللَّهُwallahuAnd Allah
ٱلْغَنِىُّl-ghaniyu(is) the Free of need
وَأَنتُمُwa-antumuwhile you
ٱلْفُقَرَآءُl-fuqarāu(are) the needy
وَإِنwa-inAnd if
تَتَوَلَّوْا۟tatawallawyou turn away
يَسْتَبْدِلْyastabdilHe will replace (you)
قَوْمًاqawman(with) a people
غَيْرَكُمْghayrakumother than you
ثُمَّthummathen
لَاlānot
يَكُونُوٓا۟yakūnūthey will be
أَمْثَٰلَكُمamthālakumlike you
Here you are — those invited to spend in the cause of Allah — but among you are those who withhold [out of greed]. And whoever withholds only withholds [benefit] from himself; and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.
