78. Surah An-Naba (The Tidings)
سُورَةُ النبأReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Fatima Al-Zahra
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
عَمَّʿammaAbout what
يَتَسَآءَلُونَyatasāalūnaare they asking one another
About what are they asking one another?
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThat which
هُمْhumthey
فِيهِfīhiconcerning it
مُخْتَلِفُونَmukh'talifūna(are) in disagreement
That over which they are in disagreement.
ثُمَّthummaThen
كَلَّاkallānay
سَيَعْلَمُونَsayaʿlamūnasoon they will know
Then, no! They are going to know.
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, We
أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْandharnākumhave warned you
عَذَابًاʿadhāban(of) a punishment
قَرِيبًاqarībannear
يَوْمَyawma(the) Day
يَنظُرُyanẓuruwill observe
ٱلْمَرْءُl-maruthe man
مَاmāwhat
قَدَّمَتْqaddamathave sent forth
يَدَاهُyadāhuhis hands
وَيَقُولُwayaqūluand will say
ٱلْكَافِرُl-kāfiruthe disbeliever
يَٰلَيْتَنِىyālaytanīO, I wish
كُنتُkuntuI were
تُرَٰبًۢاturābandust
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, 'Oh, I wish that I were dust!'
