82. Surah Al-Infitar (The Cleaving)
سُورَةُ الانفطارReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Fatima Al-Zahra
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَاidhāWhen
ٱلسَّمَآءُl-samāuthe sky
ٱنفَطَرَتْinfaṭaratis cleft asunder
When the sky breaks apart
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd when
ٱلْكَوَاكِبُl-kawākibuthe stars
ٱنتَثَرَتْintatharatscatter
And when the stars fall, scattering,
يَوْمَyawma(The) Day
لَاlānot
تَمْلِكُtamlikuwill possess
نَفْسٌnafsuna soul
لِّنَفْسٍlinafsinfor a soul
شَيْـًٔاshayananything
وَٱلْأَمْرُwal-amruand the command
يَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Day
لِّلَّهِlillahi(is) with Allah
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
