97. Surah Al-Qadr (The Power)
سُورَةُ القدرReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Fatima Al-Zahra
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّآinnāIndeed We
أَنزَلْنَٰهُanzalnāhuWe sent it down
فِىfīin
لَيْلَةِlaylati(the) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِl-qadri(of) Power
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
وَمَآwamāAnd what
أَدْرَىٰكَadrākacan make you know
مَاmāwhat
لَيْلَةُlaylatu(the) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِl-qadri(of) Power (is)
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
لَيْلَةُlaylatu(The) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِl-qadri(of) Power
خَيْرٌkhayrun(is) better
مِّنْminthan
أَلْفِalfia thousand
شَهْرٍshahrinmonths
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
تَنَزَّلُtanazzaluDescend
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe angels
وَٱلرُّوحُwal-rūḥuand the Spirit
فِيهَاfīhātherein
بِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby (the) permission
رَبِّهِمrabbihim(of) their Lord
مِّنminfor
كُلِّkullievery
أَمْرٍamrinaffair
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
سَلَٰمٌsalāmunPeace
هِىَhiyait (is)
حَتَّىٰḥattāuntil
مَطْلَعِmaṭlaʿi(the) emergence
ٱلْفَجْرِl-fajri(of) the dawn
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
