15. Surah Al-Hijr (The Rocky Tract)
سُورَةُ الحجرReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
الٓرalif-lām-rāAlif Lam Ra
تِلْكَtil'kaThese
ءَايَٰتُāyātu(are the) verses
ٱلْكِتَٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
وَقُرْءَانٍwaqur'āninand a Qur'an
مُّبِينٍmubīninclear
Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an.
رُّبَمَاrubamāPerhaps
يَوَدُّyawadduwill wish
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieved
لَوْlawthat
كَانُوا۟kānūthey had been
مُسْلِمِينَmus'limīnaMuslims
Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims.
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, We
نَحْنُnaḥnuWe
نَزَّلْنَاnazzalnāhave sent down
ٱلذِّكْرَl-dhik'rathe Reminder (Qur'an)
وَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed We
لَهُۥlahuof it
لَحَٰفِظُونَlaḥāfiẓūna(are) surely Guardians
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
وَٱعْبُدْwa-uʿ'budAnd worship
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
حَتَّىٰḥattāuntil
يَأْتِيَكَyatiyakacomes to you
ٱلْيَقِينُl-yaqīnuthe certainty
And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty [i.e., death].
