20. Surah Taha (Ta-Ha)
سُورَةُ طهReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
مَآmāNot
أَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe have sent down
عَلَيْكَʿalaykaupon you
ٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ānathe Qur'an
لِتَشْقَىٰٓlitashqāthat you be distressed
We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed
إِلَّاillāExcept
تَذْكِرَةًtadhkiratan(as) a reminder
لِّمَنlimanfor those who
يَخْشَىٰyakhshāfear (Allah)
But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] —
قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
ٱشْرَحْish'raḥexpand
لِىlīfor me
صَدْرِىṣadrīmy breast
[Moses] said, 'My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance]'
قُلْqulSay
كُلٌّkullunEach
مُّتَرَبِّصٌmutarabbiṣun(is) waiting
فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟fatarabbaṣūso wait
فَسَتَعْلَمُونَfasataʿlamūnaThen you will know
مَنْmanwho
أَصْحَٰبُaṣḥābu(are the) companions
ٱلصِّرَٰطِl-ṣirāṭi(of) the path
ٱلسَّوِىِّl-sawiyithe even
وَمَنِwamaniand who
ٱهْتَدَىٰih'tadāis guided
Say, 'Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided.'
