35. Surah Fatir (Originator)
سُورَةُ فاطرReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلْحَمْدُal-ḥamduAll praise
لِلَّهِlillahi(is due) to Allah
فَاطِرِfāṭiriOriginator
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earth
جَاعِلِjāʿili(Who) makes
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِl-malāikatithe angels
رُسُلًاrusulanmessengers
أُو۟لِىٓulīhaving
أَجْنِحَةٍajniḥatinwings
مَّثْنَىٰmathnātwo
وَثُلَٰثَwathulāthaor three
وَرُبَٰعَwarubāʿaor four
يَزِيدُyazīduHe increases
فِىfīin
ٱلْخَلْقِl-khalqithe creation
مَاmāwhat
يَشَآءُyashāuHe wills
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
عَلَىٰʿalā(is) over
كُلِّkullievery
شَىْءٍshayinthing
قَدِيرٌqadīrunAll-Powerful
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
وَلَوْwalawAnd if
يُؤَاخِذُyuākhidhuwere to take to task
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
ٱلنَّاسَl-nāsamankind
بِمَاbimāfor what
كَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey have earned
مَاmānot
تَرَكَtarakaHe would leave
عَلَىٰʿalāon
ظَهْرِهَاẓahrihāits back
مِنminany
دَآبَّةٍdābbatinliving creature
وَلَٰكِنwalākinbut
يُؤَخِّرُهُمْyu-akhiruhumHe grants them respite
إِلَىٰٓilāto
أَجَلٍajalina term
مُّسَمًّىmusammanappointed
فَإِذَاfa-idhāAnd when
جَآءَjāacomes
أَجَلُهُمْajaluhumtheir term
فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeed
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
كَانَkānais ever
بِعِبَادِهِۦbiʿibādihiof His servants
بَصِيرًۢاbaṣīranAll-Seeing
And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allah has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.
