6. Surah Al-An'am (The Cattle)
سُورَةُ الأنعامReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلْحَمْدُal-ḥamduAll praise
لِلَّهِlillahi(is due) to Allah
ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Who
خَلَقَkhalaqacreated
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earth
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِl-ẓulumātithe darkness
وَٱلنُّورَwal-nūraand the light
ثُمَّthummaThen
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
بِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimwith their Lord
يَعْدِلُونَyaʿdilūnaequate (others)
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light. Then those who disbelieve equate [others] with their Lord.
هُوَhuwaHe
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
خَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumcreated you
مِّنminfrom
طِينٍṭīninclay
ثُمَّthummathen
قَضَىٰٓqaḍāHe decreed
أَجَلًاajalana term
وَأَجَلٌwa-ajalunand a term
مُّسَمًّىmusammanspecified
عِندَهُۥʿindahuwith Him
ثُمَّthummayet
أَنتُمْantumyou
تَمْتَرُونَtamtarūnadoubt
It is He who created you from clay and then decreed a term and a specified time [known] to Him; then [still] you are in dispute.
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd He
ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Who
جَعَلَكُمْjaʿalakummade you
خَلَٰٓئِفَkhalāifasuccessors
ٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi(of) the earth
وَرَفَعَwarafaʿaand raised
بَعْضَكُمْbaʿḍakumsome of you
فَوْقَfawqaabove
بَعْضٍbaʿḍinothers
دَرَجَٰتٍdarajātin(in) degrees
لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْliyabluwakumthat He may test you
فِىfīin
مَآmāwhat
ءَاتَىٰكُمْātākumHe has given you
إِنَّinnaIndeed
رَبَّكَrabbakayour Lord
سَرِيعُsarīʿu(is) swift
ٱلْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) penalty
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuand indeed He
لَغَفُورٌlaghafūrun(is) surely Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌۢraḥīmunMost Merciful
And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.
