7. Surah Al-A'raf (The Heights)
سُورَةُ الأعرافReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
كِتَٰبٌkitābunA Book
أُنزِلَunzilarevealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
فَلَاfalāso let not
يَكُنyakunthere be
فِىfīin
صَدْرِكَṣadrikayour breast
حَرَجٌḥarajunany tightness
مِّنْهُmin'hutherefrom
لِتُنذِرَlitundhirathat you may warn
بِهِۦbihithereby
وَذِكْرَىٰwadhik'rāand a reminder
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīnafor the believers
[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] — so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom — that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers.
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ittabiʿūFollow
مَآmāwhat
أُنزِلَunzilahas been revealed
إِلَيْكُمilaykumto you
مِّنminfrom
رَّبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lord
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَتَّبِعُوا۟tattabiʿūfollow
مِنminbesides
دُونِهِۦٓdūnihiHim
أَوْلِيَآءَawliyāaany allies
قَلِيلًاqalīlanLittle
مَّاmā(is) what
تَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnayou remember
Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
عِندَʿinda(are) near
رَبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
لَاlā(do) not
يَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūnaturn away in pride
عَنْʿanfrom
عِبَادَتِهِۦʿibādatihiHis worship
وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥwayusabbiḥūnahuand they glorify Him
وَلَهُۥwalahuand to Him
يَسْجُدُونَyasjudūnathey prostrate
Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate.
