107. Surah Al-Ma'un (The Small kindnesses)

سُورَةُ الماعون

Reciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Fatima Al-Zahra

Ayah:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

أَرَءَيْتَara-aytaHave you seen

ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe one who

يُكَذِّبُyukadhibudenies

بِٱلدِّينِbil-dīnithe Judgment

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

فَذَٰلِكَfadhālikaThen that

ٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the one who

يَدُعُّyaduʿʿurepulses

ٱلْيَتِيمَl-yatīmathe orphan

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

وَلَاwalāAnd (does) not

يَحُضُّyaḥuḍḍufeel the urge

عَلَىٰʿalāto

طَعَامِṭaʿāmifeed

ٱلْمِسْكِينِl-mis'kīnithe poor

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

وَيَمْنَعُونَwayamnaʿūnaAnd they withhold

ٱلْمَاعُونَl-māʿūnasmall kindnesses

And withhold [simple] assistance.
