13. Surah Ar-Ra'd (The Thunder)
سُورَةُ الرعدReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
الٓمٓرalif-lām-mīm-rāAlif Lam Meem Ra
تِلْكَtil'kaThese
ءَايَٰتُāyātu(are the) verses
ٱلْكِتَٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
وَٱلَّذِىٓwalladhīand that which
أُنزِلَunzilais revealed
إِلَيْكَilaykato you
مِنminfrom
رَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lord
ٱلْحَقُّl-ḥaqu(is) the truth
وَلَٰكِنَّwalākinnabut
أَكْثَرَaktharamost
ٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the people
لَاlā(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
Alif, Lam, Meem, Ra. These are the verses of the Book; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose who
ءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieve
وَتَطْمَئِنُّwataṭma-innuand find rest
قُلُوبُهُمqulūbuhumtheir hearts
بِذِكْرِbidhik'riin (the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
أَلَاalāUnquestionably
بِذِكْرِbidhik'riin (the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allah
تَطْمَئِنُّtaṭma-innufind rest
ٱلْقُلُوبُl-qulūbuthe hearts
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.
وَيَقُولُwayaqūluAnd say
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
كَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieve
لَسْتَlastaYou are not
مُرْسَلًاmur'salana messenger
قُلْqulSay
كَفَىٰkafāSufficient is
بِٱللَّهِbil-lahiAllah
شَهِيدًۢاshahīdan(as) a Witness
بَيْنِىbaynībetween me
وَبَيْنَكُمْwabaynakumand between you
وَمَنْwamanand whoever
عِندَهُۥʿindahuwith him
عِلْمُʿil'mu(is) knowledge
ٱلْكِتَٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
And those who have disbelieved say, 'You are not a messenger.' Say, 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and [the witness of] whoever has knowledge of the Scripture.'
