19. Surah Maryam (Mary)
سُورَةُ مريمReciter: Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy • Guided by Ustadha Maryam Al-Dimashqiyyah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ذِكْرُdhik'ruA mention
رَحْمَتِraḥmati(of the) mercy
رَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lord
عَبْدَهُۥʿabdahu(to) His servant
زَكَرِيَّآzakariyyāZakariyya
[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah
إِذْidhWhen
نَادَىٰnādāhe called
رَبَّهُۥrabbahuhis Lord
نِدَآءًnidāana call
خَفِيًّاkhafiyyanprivate
When he called to his Lord a private call [i.e., supplication].
وَكَمْwakamAnd how many
أَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāhave We destroyed
قَبْلَهُمqablahumbefore them
مِّنminof
قَرْنٍqarnina generation
هَلْhalDo
تُحِسُّtuḥissuyou perceive
مِنْهُمmin'humof them
مِّنْminany
أَحَدٍaḥadinone
أَوْawor
تَسْمَعُtasmaʿuhear
لَهُمْlahumfrom them
رِكْزًۢاrik'zana whisper
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?
